ChargerLAB recently tested the charging capabilities of the iPhone 17 Pro Max using a variety of Apple chargers ranging from 18W to 140W. The device achieved a peak charging rate of approximately 36W with several Apple power adapters:

In comparison, the previous iPhone 16 Pro Max reached a maximum charging speed of around 30W, indicating that the iPhone 17 Pro Max charges marginally faster. The smaller iPhone 17 Pro is expected to reach the same 36W peak charging speed.

Apple states that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max can be charged up to 50% within just 20 minutes when used with compatible chargers, including the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. By contrast, the iPhone 16 series can reach 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes with similar chargers.

The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is now available for purchase in select regions, including the U.S., Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, and the Philippines.
