Brad Pitt's F1 Movie to Get a Sequel, Producers Confirm

The Apple Studios-supported F1 feature, directed by Joseph Kosinski, centers on disgraced driver Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) who is recruited by an old ally to rescue a failing F1 team named APXGP. Hayes brings unconventional tactics and clashes with his rookie teammate Joshua Pierce (Damson Idris), while the pair square off against real drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen.

With F1 grossing about $633 million worldwide and earning a Best Picture nod at the Oscars, excitement for a follow-up has grown, and a sequel is reportedly in development.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer acknowledged that a sequel is in the works during an interview at an Oscars event in Los Angeles. He stopped short of confirming cast details but suggested Pitt will have input on casting. The first film was produced by Pitt alongside Bruckheimer, Kosinski, and Hamilton.

Bruckheimer also reflected on the film’s journey, noting the setbacks from Hollywood strikes but praising its global reception and expressing enthusiasm about working with Pitt again.

As information on the sequel remains scarce, fans can look forward to more updates about the F1 project and related 2026 releases.
