What happened in Episode 6?
- Episode 6, titled Jane, centers on Jane Driscoll’s origin and uses flashbacks to explore the nature vs. nurture question.
- The flashbacks begin on May 29, 1997, when a man receives a chilling prophecy: a killer will be born on June 6 at 12:01 a.m., and that child can be stopped if a message is delivered. The man locates a child who fits the prophecy—Jane—and informs her mother.
- We then follow Jane’s difficult childhood, marked by a mother who struggles to connect, possibly hampered by the ominous prophecy. Jane herself is troubled, hearing voices that push her toward bad acts, including lashing out at her mother.
- Jumping forward ten years, Jane trains at a place called The Farm. Her supervisor shows her calming techniques for the voices, but Jane uses these powers for harm—she allegedly injures a rival by severing his penis.
- In the present day, Robinson is arrested for the President’s murder and is imprisoned underground. There, she becomes entangled in Jeremy Bradford’s plan to shut off the bunker’s oxygen supply, effectively forcing an unwanted exit to the outside world.
- Outside the bunker, Redmond seizes the moment to assert control by proposing a plan to counter the growing threat. He sends Drisoll out to arrange a meeting that could shift the power balance.
- Upon her return, Gabby confronts Jane about her actions, and Jane warns that any attempt to take down Redmond will have to go through her.
- Meanwhile, Xavier spends the episode building a device to create a distraction that will help free Teri from her alleged captors. By the end, Xavier discovers that Gary intends to blow him up, narrowly avoiding a blast. As armed men close in, Teri emerges from the crowd, and the two finally come face-to-face as the episode ends.
