Reddit to remove r/all entry points, nudging users toward the old Reddit interface
April 4, 2026
Reddit has announced changes that will affect how you access the r/all feed. In a changelog shared with The Verge, the platform says that entry points and direct links to r/all will be removed starting April 2. The update covers both the desktop site and the Android and iOS apps.
What changes for users
- If you try to reach r/all through typical routes or by clicking a standard link, you’ll be redirected to Reddit’s homepage, which now surfaces popular content from across the site rather than a dedicated r/all feed.
- A workaround remains available: you can still access r/all by using the old Reddit interface, which is still online and includes a top navigation link to r/all. Reddit has stated this option will continue to be supported for those who want it.
Context and potential ripple effects
- This isn’t the first time Reddit tested redirects away from r/all. What was previously labeled an experiment has now become the default behavior for the main interface.
- The fate of the r/popular feed is less clear. A spokesperson told The Verge that Reddit is rethinking parts of the global feed, especially for new users, and future changes could extend to r/popular as well.
